Roving Reporter Janelle Van Der Westhuizen 22/11/10

Welcome to Room 13's daily update

Today has been a difficult day in our town with the eyes of the world watching us. We are praying for the Men to come home safely and also for their families.

This morning Miss P showed us a new website to help us with our spelling. We found some of the games difficult because the instructions weren't there and some of the parts moved very fast... We will get better!!!

We had an audition to see who would be in the lead parts for our xmas concert. Lots of people wanted to audition but only some will get the parts. Fingers crossed for Room 13!!!

This afternoon we completed another science experiment with Room 14. It was called Lava Lamp. This is the experiment.

Method:
1. Half fill a jar with water and food colour mixture
2. Gently and slowly pour oil on top of the water. It should settle on top.
3. Gently drop the aspirin in the mixture.
4. After floating through the oil it should hit the water and begin to bubble.

The result was something that looked like a lava lamp. The oil mixture was moving like a wave.
We will try again tomorrow and see what happens if we puit a second aspirin in the jar.

Over and out Janelle

  1. Dana’s Magic Travel

This is how Dana’s exploring started…

Once, Dana went to shopping at the hall.

There was a lot food to choose and taste.

She went to the Thai food and chooses the red, orange sauce with some rice.

She ate them hungrily and wanted to go toilet.

She noticed a sigh on the door, it says:”PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE DOOR!!”

But Dana saw that was a joke.

So she touched the handle of the door.

    BOOM!

Everything changed as her wake up.

The little, sparkly stars shone on the dark, blue sky.

The moon as a morning lake was in the sky.

Dana watched the shooting star pass.

She smiled as the pink and yellow fireworks made the dark sky more beautiful.

She slowly sat on the soft, fresh grass.

    Smelling at the white flowers...

She still doesn’t know that she was lost in the Fantastic World.

As her wake up, she saw the beautiful sun climbed up from the hill.

But she’s alone, she miss her home, her family.

Where were them, Dana doesn’t know…

She feels that she was hungry, she touched her tummy.

    Bump!

    Bump!

Like magic, a wet, white cloud comes in front of Dana.

A girl, whose hairs were as black as the paint.

Her ears, which were as white as snow and her ears were as sharp as knives.

The beautiful, blue eyes showed her warm.

Two white butterfly flowers growing on her hairs nicely.

Her dress was white and pretty, the butterflies and the beautiful, red (smell nice too)roses made the dress more beautiful.
